Originally from Michigan.
Transplanted to Texas.
Hello and welcome to Art Shack Design. Here’s a brief history of who I am, and what I do: I grew up in Michigan and started my college career at Michigan State University. As my senior year approached, I felt the urge to dive deeper into graphic design so I decided to drop everything and transfer to The College for Creative Studies in downtown Detroit. With the help of a couple of design mentors and a great internship, design finally “clicked” for me out in the real world.
Upon graduating in December 2005, I packed up my car and hit the road for Texas. I landed a great job at Heritage Auction Galleries in Dallas. I was given the opportunity to grow as a designer through editorial design, catalog production, environmental signage and so much more. After four years, I felt like I had gone as far as I could, so I set out on a new adventure. I now work full time in Ardmore, OK, where I am the Creative Manager by day for an amazing nonprofit organization, The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation. Here, I have the pleasure of working with a team of highly creative individuals. We have won several national and state design awards over the years, both individually and as a team.
By night, I work on various creative projects through Art Shack Design. Freelance is the best creative outlet I know. No job is too large or too small. When I’m not manipulating type or working on fun projects, you can find me riding around on my Harley Sportster with my handsome husband, hanging out with friends or taking care of my rescue dog, Louie. I love what I do for a living and try hard to make every project as creative and professional as it can possibly be. I am passionate about graphic design. Great design communicates clearly and is highly effective for both clients and their target audiences.
If you have a new project in mind, please get in touch. I am taking on new clients all the time. Contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org to talk about your next creative endeavor.
